The New Theatre of Ferrara is the second most important theater of the city, after the Municipal Theatre. It was built by the engineer Sesto Boari between 1925 and 1926. The façade appears to be sober, decorated with three columns supporting a large balcony from which you overlook two large windows. The interior has a bell-shaped plant with a large audience and two orders of galleries, while the decorations are stucco and reliefs in late Art Nouveau style. It was inaugurated in 1926 with the representation "La cena delle beffe" by Sem Benelli and Umberto Giordano.
