The Scuderie del Quirinale is part of the Palazzo del Quirinale (Quirinal Palace), which is one the official residences of the President of the Italian Republic. The original function of the Scuderie was that of carriage house and stables of the Palazzo. Nowadays it is a venue for major cultural events and exhibitions.
The building was completed in 1732. Since 1999 it serves as an exhibition space, having hosted major exhibitions with a variety of themes: from pop-art to the Dutch Golden Age, and from imperial China to classical Italian art.
When leaving the exhibition space on the top floor, the staircase with glass panels provides a stunning view over the city.
