the Real Casa de la Aduana (Custom Office) in Calle de Alcalá was designed by the Italian architect Francesco Sabatini Francesco (Palermo, 1722 - Madrid, 1797). The building, whose construction was completed in 1769, was conceived as an Italian palace but maintaining the functional character required for the establishment. The façade shows remarkable dimensions, decorated with a balustrade with various strings of windows and pediments placed symmetrically. It currently houses the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Spain. The building currently hosts the headquarter of the Ministry of Finance.
