Palazzo Grifoni- Budini Gattai

Palazzo Budini Gattai, formerly Palazzo Grifoni, is located in Florence in via de 'Servi 51, at the corner with Piazza Santissima Annunziata.

In ancient times, there were some lands on this site that belonged to the order of the Servants of Mary since 1250, domiciled in the front of the Basilica of the Santissima Annunziata: here the festival of the Rificolona was held in ancient times, where the Madonna was honored with a lit lantern held tied to a cane, and the celebrations for the Annunciation that took place for the Florentine New Year on March 25th. It dates back to 1464 the decision of the prior general of the order to sell some land to citizens who want to build you palaces, and was Antonio di Puccio Pucci to buy to build five houses, of which only one was actually built at an angle.
