Museo Archeologico

The State Archaeological Museum Gaio Cilnio Mecenate is the most important archaeological museum of Arezzo, is located in the South of the city and is housed in the former convent of San Bernardo (14th century), built over a part of the roman amphitheatre.
The museum is dedicated to Gaio Cilnio Mecenate an important character of Rome at the time of Augustus from which comes the word patronage.
The museum collects testimonies coming from public buildings, churches and private collections that have been replaced by a public collection of Etruscan and Roman art.
