The war memorial of August 8th, 1848, also known as "The Commoner", is a bronze statue placed in Piazza VIII Agosto in Bologna, at the entrance to the Parco della Montagnola.Pasquale Rizzoli is the author of the statue (1903), which was modeled in memory of the day when the people of Bologna drove the Austrians from the city after a firefight.
