San Matteo degli Armeni library was inaugurated on July 2012 following a long period of renovation works . It is just outside the medieval walls of Perugia and it is part of the XIII Century monumental complex of San Matteo degli Armeni. All around the library a park of 5.000 sq. metres with ruins of XVII Century structures, the garden’s period of splendour when it was decorated with plants, fountains and statues. San Matteo degli Armeni Church is managed by the Russian Orthodox Community. It’s a centre of research, promotion of initiatives, debates and specialised studies, with a specific book assets about peace, nonviolence, human rights, intercultural and interfaith dialogue.
