S. Pietro in Sylvis parish church, dating back to the VII century, is one of the best preserved churches in the territory and represents a typical example of exarchal architecture.Probably the church was built next to an ancient roman temple dedicated to Jovis. The site could correspond to the eastern port on the south marsh area, used by pilgrims on their way to Rome towards 1000 AC.
